How far in advance should I book my wedding in Grenada?
We advise a minimum of 3 months for planning purposes.
Why plan a Destination Wedding?
There are many reasons to choose a destination wedding. Many couples look to a destination wedding as a way to have a unique and memorable wedding experience. Often, when looking at a guest list, many people will have to travel from far away states or countries. A destination wedding allows them to travel somewhere exotic and fabulous, where they can also enjoy a relaxing vacation; as opposed to asking guests to book a flight and hotel in a less exciting hometown.
Some couples are in love with the destination, and want to spend the most special day of their lives in their idea of paradise. More couples decide upon a destination wedding as they are from different areas of the country, and do not want to decide against one hometown for another, so they opt to go to a location that will, from now on, be somewhere special to each of them.
How long do we need to be in Grenada before we can get married?
In Grenada the law requires that visitors be resident on the island for a minimum of three (3) days (including weekends and public holidays) before applying for a licence.
On the 3rd day we need to allocate time to apply for and collect the wedding license. Therefore you can get married from the 4th or 5th day of being in Grenada. Generally the licence is ready within two (2) working days.
What are the legal requirements to get married in Grenada?

How can I inform my guests that I’m getting married in Grenada?
Save The Date - When getting married abroad, wedding etiquette suggests you give your guests as much notice as possible (usually 6-12 months in advance). Most couples send a Save the Date invitation. Or you can use one of our Grenada Spice bags and have your invitation details written on it; these are a cool idea, inexpensive & light to mail.
Plan Your Trip Letter - or Wedding Website accompanied with the ‘Save The Date’ invitation you should include a Plan your Trip letter, giving your guests information about destination, flight and accommodation booking services & other useful travel information.
Wedding-moon - When getting married abroad some couples choose to limit the number of invited guests. Indeed many couples come alone and enjoy a combined wedding and honeymoon. If this is the case you may wish to send a wedding announcement. This can be done “Spice Island Style” by ordering and returning home with duty free spice bags to give to your family and friends at home as your wedding announcement.
Wedding Website – Many couples create their own website as it works perfectly as a ‘Save The Date’ invitation, also as a resource for all information, including details of your Wedding Gift Registry. The ‘wedding website’ is a great place to post photos and details after the wedding for those guests that could not attend.
